Both the Christian Church and the world at large are being bombarded daily with false doctrines and false prophecies - most of them are of a Futurist nature, which all stem from the Futurist school of prophecy of the Jesuit Francisco Ribera in 1590, made popular by the Edward Irving, the Plymouth Brethren, and American Baptists & Pentecostals mainly in the past 100 years. This, through many modern books and movies, has morphed into a ridiculous, futuristic Si-Fi fantasy that is foreign to Bible prophecy, to the point where the word 'apocalyptic' has no relation to what it means in the Bible - i.e. the revelation (first & second advent) of Jesus Christ.
Below is a local example, which is so full of nonsense, it's a wonder anyone can believe it - but the insidious nature of Rome's propaganda is that people find it attractive, perhaps because it delves into the 'unknown' - Rome introduces the 'unknown' but the Bible teaches plain facts (See our 'Library' page for a full study on Revelation & End Times Prophecy). Even the average Christian will set aside the plain Truth of the Bible to look at these fantastic heresies & false prophecies, but they are without excuse!
BECAUSE there is more than sufficient instruction in Scripture, well-known by all the Protestant Churches, underlined by the fact that the early Protestants rejected Ribera's Futurism (Ribera was trying to avoid the accusation of the Protestants, that the Pope is the Antichrist - see Encycl. Brit.), and even wrote these basic matters of sound doctrine in their Confessions - e.g. The Westminster Confession of Faith 1646.
Quoting the WCF 1646 Ch. 25 vi - Of The Church:
There is no other head of the Church, but the Lord Jesus Christ; nor can the Pope of Rome, in any sense, be head thereof; but is that Antichrist, that man of sin, and son of perdition, that exalteth himself, in the Church. against Christ and all that is called God. Col. i. 18; Eph. i. 22; Matt. xxiii. 8, 9, 10; 2 Thess. ii. 3, 4, 8, 9; Rev. xii. 6.
This is standard Protestant doctrine - but there are hardly any real Protestants left today.
Please excuse my scrawl (below), but if you can read it, I'm sure it is sufficient to expose the many lies in the leaflet. TWS.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: As a "Protestant & Reformed" Church (which means Bible-based and rejecting the rule and errors of Popery), we align ourselves and our faith with the "Protestant Reformed religion established by law in the United Kingdom" (Coronation Oath of Elizabeth II), based on the Bible (Authorised / King James Version) - not on ever-changing "tradition" as per the Church of Rome.
We are therefore loyal to the Protestant Crown of the U.K. and the Protestant-based Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900, and pledge our service to God, King, and Country, on the Word of God, including our subjection to all lawful authority. "Lawful authority" means, authority under Christ, Crown, and Constitution, as our Constitution and Scripture also require: Romans 13:1-5,
"LET every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake."
"Good" and "evil" are not defined by governments, but by the Word of God - briefly by the Ten Commandments.
In view of recent tragic events near Tara Queensland, we want to make it clear that we renounce all violence, murder, and any treasonous opposition to the Crown & Constitution and government based on them. We renounce the so-called 'Sovereign Citizens' movement, which is not based on Scripture, and seems to look for some sort of fake authority outside the Commonwealth and outside the Word of God, which is the only true Authority in this world, as our founding fathers acknowledged in the Constitution, and as upheld by well over 1,000 years of Christian law in the British Isles, particularly since Alfred the Great, and later, the Magna Carta, and the Protestant Reformation in the 15th., 16th., & 17th. centuries (e.g. Henry VIII's break with Rome in 1533, Bill of Rights 1688 & Act of Settlement 1701). For the same reasons, we approve and fully support the use of lethal force by police when they are attacked with lethal force.
We do, however, preach to all, that God "commandeth all men everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30), including rogue governments and kings, government agents, corruption and treasonous actions against Australia's sovereignty and godly foundation, as well as all other sin, according to the Scriptures, and "humbly relying on the blessing of Almighty God" (Commonwealth Constitution), as did John the Baptist, when he called out the leaders of Israel for their hypocrisy, and as our Lord Jesus, who did the same and requires us to do.
OUR DOCTRINE:- Generally as per The London Baptist Confession 1689,
(which is based on The Westminster Confession of Faith 1646, the official doctrine of the Church of England in 1647), Echoing the faith of the Protestant Reformers, (Salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone).
OUR AUTHORITY:- Scripture alone! Inspired by God, and preserved by God's grace, according to His promises (2 Timothy 3:16, Isaiah 59:21, Psalm 12:6-7), in English, the Authorised / King James Bible.
